I must say that in all the years I've purchased cars I've never had an experience quite like what happened today. I stopped in about a month ago and test drove the new Hyundai Sonata. it was about an hour before closing time on a Friday and the show room was completely dead. I explained to the salesgirl who was extremely nice and friendly that I was looking to purchase something in the next 30 days but not that night. I also told her if there were any other people around she should help them as I was not ready to buy something immediately. I have been in sales of most of my life so I understand how commission works and I didn't want her to lose out on a sale. We drove the Sonata and it seemed like a nice car. Today I stopped in to drive the Subaru Legacy. Recently it has come to my attention that I may be moving to Colorado and so all-wheel-drive might be a better match. Again I explained to the salesperson that I was not ready to buy a car today but wanted to do my research and if there was anyone else around he should feel free to help them. The salesperson was super nice and said that he would take me on a test drive. A few minutes later the sales manager came out and asked me if I was going to buy a car today. I explained that I was doing my research but wasn't ready to buy. He said I should come back when I'm ready to buy and stop jerking them around. I tried to explain that I was doing my research and he said that he saw me in here the other day driving a Sonata and now I'm driving a Subaru. He said that I should stop wasting their f*** time and come back when I'm actually ready to buy something. This is only the second time I had been at the dealership to look for a car. Also three years ago I bought my last car from them (a brand-new Subaru Impreza). I had "wasted" less than an hour of his salespeoples time including both times I had been to the dealership. I did buy my last Subaru from them a fact that I cannot change. That mistake will never be repeated. If this is how they treat their customers I shudder to think how they treat everyone else.
